COMMUNITY

We celebrate the life

of one of our original members, Heidi Morris White. Heidi passed recently.  Heidi was the first Faithplacer to get baptized in the Church. She was also the first Faithplacer to get married under the ministry. We join with her dear husband Brother Ron White, her sister and fellow Faithplacer Sharon Morris, and Heidi’s sons (all part of the Faith Place community) in celebration of a life well-lived.

Our Pastor Sean Edwards

was one of the conveners of a coalition of key clergy who came together to pray for the mayor of the City of New York, Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams, on June 18, 2021.  The event was covered by the local and national press.

Faithplacer and BOSS

(“Brothers of Spiritual Significance”) member Rodney Calixte was selected among many as Faith Place’s 2021 FATHER OF THE YEAR.  His tireless investment into rearing his children despite challenges and imperfections is truly inspiring. Besides the award, Rodney received a special shout-out during our worship celebration recently. Rodney truly embodies Ephesians 6:4: “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” He is celebrated by his wife and their three children.

Faith Place

was well represented in the Southeast Queens, NYC community in solidarity with several organizations and key clergy to urge for peace in the streets following a tragic gun incident resulting in the death of a young man in the community.  The key community leaders and clergy prayed for peace and vowed to continue working to have a strong presence as the summer heats up.

Minister Justin Raghoo

recently stopped by the Faith Place to ignite the Fathers on Father’s Day. While Minister Justin lit ablaze our Father’s Day broadcast, he issued a challenge for all of us to be people of integrity, maturing into the calls on our lives to grow, even if amongst the chaffs of life. Whew. What a time. The video is available on our Facebook and YouTube channels.

International Minister of Music

Sefton Dale Brown swooped in from his many travels to bless the Faith Place community by leading worship for a few weeks this summer. The hymns he brought back were a poignant reminder of God’s enduring power. “Dale Brown and Friends”, as the group of worship leaders who led us are affectionately known also brought some “island-style” heat to some familiar worship material. The mixture of Caribbean flavored worship songs further intensified the connections we have been making with God this summer. All we can say is, “glory”! Each week with Faith Place is exciting and umoque. Don’t miss any of it.
